Since 2010, Henry Blakely Landscapes has been creating bespoke outdoor spaces across Christchurch and throughout New Zealand. Founded by Henry Blakely - who brings over 25 years of experience in both landscape and civil construction.

Specialising in high-end residential landscape design and construction, our portfolio spans expansive lifestyle blocks, residential gardens, and city courtyards. Each project is tailored to its site, its architecture, and its owners - resulting in timeless, functional landscapes and gardens built to the highest standard.

    Our process starts with an on-site consultation to understand your vision and the site’s potential. We then prepare a tailored brief and fee proposal for the concept stage, presented as an A3 booklet with imagery, references, and a scaled A2 plan. Where helpful, 3D renderings bring the design to life, supported by a planting schedule detailing species, sizes, and seasonal character.

    Next, we can develop detailed construction documentation to guide accurate implementation. Our plans provide clarity for contractors and confidence for clients. We’re also experienced in navigating council processes and meeting public sector requirements, ensuring all submissions are clear, compliant, and on time.

    Our team delivers both hardscape and softscape construction with a focus on quality, durability, and detail. From pools, fireplaces, pergolas, and decking to paving, retaining walls, and lush planting schemes, we craft spaces that are both functional and refined.
